Serenity Found!

Okay, I FINALLY have my very own internet connection at home!!! YAY!!! It's not that I live WAY out in the sticks (although I suppose that's pretty relative to your idea of just what constitutes "the sticks") I've just been taking my own sweet time "getting around" to getting hooked up. Anyway - enough of the past!
So, today was quite productive for me - by 8am I had relocated the bulk of our food storage from my laundry room floor into our teeny, tiny food storage 'space' (an old cole room in the basement of our 1946 farmhouse) thus meeting my weightlifting quota for the day. Even being Preg-o I am determined to keep up my bone density & I figure hauling 400 lbs of wheat, 30 lbs of macaroni & 150 lbs of sugar in 5-gal. buckets from point A to point B should do it for today. Besides, it was getting on my nerves. Anyway, my morning went on to include homeschool & re-arranging my dining room - it doesn't get to be a dining room anymore for several reasons:
1) In the 4 months we've lived here, we've eaten at the dining room table once. We usually eat at the enormous bar in the kitchen.
2) My house is too small to have rooms filled with furniture we don't use.
3) The floor is carpeted.
4) The only reason it became a "dining room" in the first place is because I acquiesced to my dear mom's opinion that my life would be somehow less satisfying should I turn it into something more functional like, say, a library or study, or just a family room (seeing as my living room is much too formal for any of these purposes).
5) It was getting on my nerves.
So there you have it - I have regained my autonomy and decided that the dining room table and chairs will better meet the needs of my family in the garage rafters. I must say, I am loving the roominess of the space without all the clutter of the table, etc.
The girls are both napping - glorious rapture! - and since I have a little time before I need to start working on dinner, I thought I'd post a quick note even if only for my own satisfaction. There now, I feel better. :) More later!
